Vancouver Island: 21. - 31.08.09
From Vancouver, or more accurate Horseshoe Bay the ferry brought us to
Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. Our first destination on this piece of land
in the ocean was on the west coast or a bit more accurate the Pacific
Rim National Park between Tofino and Ucluelet. And on that evening we
visited the famous Long Beach. It is a real tourist magnet, but they
spread fast on this enormous with drift wood covered beach. |

Yukon / British Columbia: 07. – 21.08.09 Just on time fort our half year anniversary we moved after 64 days in to a Hotel room again. As a wedding present from our best men and his family we got to stay a night in the Inn on the Lake just before Whitehorse. Tipp: Get the Jacuzzi- Suite with the own Jacuzzi in the Suite itself.

Yukon / North West Territories: 08. – 15.07.2009 Now it was supposed to go on the 740 km (462 mi) long, infamous Dempster Highway from Dawson City to Inuvik. The northern most point we wanted to reach with our Nisto. Lots we have heard and read about this road; terrible gravel road, where you should have multiple spare tires and you’ll be using even more. Indeed we have heard in the Visitor Center in Dawson City that just last week a trailer used 6 spare tires. Well kind of understandable if you look at these tires that are made for a wheel barrow and have to carry a trucks load and that on gravel, they are just meant to explode.

Alberta / British Columbia / Yukon: 25.06.-07.07. There we stud, on June 25th all alone at the Canadian border. No human being in sight, just the red cones that blocked our way. Should we get out? Nope, there was a sign telling us not to, so we turned off the engine and waited, sure somebody will show up from that small house up front.
